Professor Peter Madden, OBE

Bio

Peter Madden advises on the future of property and place: how future drivers, like pervasive digital technology and the sustainability imperative, will impact development, place-making and business opportunity.

Peter Madden has worked at the cutting edge of strategy, policy and innovation for the past 30 years. As well as doing advisory, he currently works as Professor of Practice in City Futures at Cardiff University, Chair of Building with Nature , Board member of The Crown Estate and Advisory Board member of Igloo Regeneration. Previously, Peter was Chief Executive at the Future Cities Catapult , Chief Executive at Forum for the Future, and Director of the Green Alliance, as well as holding several Board positions and doing senior roles in government.

He has advised world-leading companies and cities on futures, innovation, and strategy.


Speaking and Facilitating

Peter travels across the UK and internationally to speak, and addresses high-level Board sessions and major conferences.

Keynote speeches include: Smart City Expo (Barcelona), Future Cities (Singapore), UK-India Tech Summit (Delhi), Future Cities (Singapore), Climate Solutions, (Yale), MakeCity (Berlin) Greenbiz, (San Francisco), RILA Retail Sustainability (Phoenix), Deakins Lecture (Melbourne), MIPIM (Cannes), Future Foresight Forum, (Muscat).

Peter can facilitate futures, horizon-scanning and planning sessions with leadership teams and plan and run sessions with external stakeholders.


Advising and Consulting

Peter has done advisory work on futures, strategy, and innovation with some of the top companies in the world, including Apple, Levis, PepsiCo, Tesco, Sony, Trane Technologies, Unilever and Vodafone. He has worked on smart city strategies and sustainable urban futures with leaders in the UK (including in Bristol, Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow and London) as well as in cities across the world.
